Twins dedication

For the twins dedication we decided to go with the theme of Noahs ark. The invites were the ark with one of six bible quotes on the front, these quotes were then printed and put on the tablets at the hall for the after party.
Each quote was pick by daddy and had something to do with children and god.
Along with the quotes we had rainbows made from balloons and crete paper over the sweet table and the table clothes cut in to waves in two shades of blue. We also had some animal balloons around the hall, all the decorations was kindly done by mummys cousin.
Their outfits were plain, a white dress for Buttercup with a pink hair bow and a pale grey suit for Bear with a pink bow tie.
The entertainment for the children was a bouncy castle and some soft play all jungle themed.
For the cakes We bought two plain chocolate cakes to decorate ourselves from Waitrose and the decorations from ebay.
Bears cake had the ark with a simple cross and Buttercups had the rainbow and a dove. These were all bought as a gift from Gran and mummy fixed it althought.
The food was done by nanny apart from the sweet/dessert table, which was done by mummy and daddy. The table was spilt into two, one half being animals and the other half being rainbows. Mummy and daddy had a lot of fun planning and designing this. We wanted it fun and inviting for adults and children. We have put together some of the reciepes and ideas.

Animals biscuits

1 Cup/225g unsalted butter, softened
1 Cup granulated white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 egg
2 teaspoons baking powder
3 cups all purpose flour
Directions:

Preheat oven to 350° F/180c
In the bowl of your mixer cream butter and sugar until smooth.
Beat in extract and egg.
In a separate bowl combine baking powder with flour and add a little at a time to the wet ingredients. The dough will be very stiff. If it becomes too stiff for your mixer turn out the dough onto a countertop surface. Wet your hands and finish off kneading the dough by hand.
DO NOT CHILL THE DOUGH. Divide into workable batches, roll out onto a floured surface and cut. You want these cookies to be on the thicker side (closer to 1/4 inch rather than 1/8).
Bake at 180 for 6-8 minutes. Let cool on the cookie sheet until firm enough to transfer to a cooling rack.

We used animal cutters and xut two of each animal making 66 biscuits altogether. We made these two wks agead and froze them by wrapping them in baking parcement, they freeze so well. I love this reciepe as you dont need to chill the dough and it seems to be pretty indestructible. Young children can help and it not fall apart the more you handle it. We use this reciepe for all our celebratuons and seasons, inculding christmas gifts. The kids Aunty loves them so much we also let her know when there will be some at any party and looks forward to her batch every christmas.

Rainbow fudge

Ingredients

3 cups white chocolate morsels divided
14 oz sweetened condensed mil divided
food coloring

Instructions

Line an 8 by 8 inch glass baking dish with aluminum foil.

In a small bowl combine 1/2 cup white chocolate chips and 3 TBSPs plus 1 tsp sweetened condensed milk. Microwave for 30 seconds and stir until smooth. Stir in 4 drops of red food coloring and 4 drops of blue food coloring to make your purple layer. Spread it as evenly as possible. Set the fudge in the refrigerator to cool while working on the next layer.

Repeat the process adding instead 8 drops of blue food coloring. Continue the process until you have made and added all six colors. I used 16 drops for red. (Note: I did each layer one after another, but you might have to wait in between to not overheat your microwave.)

Once the fudge has completely cooled, remove it from the pan, peeling off the aluminum foil. Cut the fudge into squares and store outside of the refrigerator for up to two weeks in an airtight container.

This was a recipe i got from wine amd glue, found on pintrest. It was so easy and quick to make and looked the part. I did two batches and got 45 sqaures from them. The colours were amazing and I was so impressed with the end result. Daddy and Button enjoyes the off cuts to.
